Tornadoes can be very dangerous and often times unexpected.
Homes can be replaced but families cannot.
Check with your local planning commission or city hall to find out if there is a shelter rebate available in your area. Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle use Panhandle Regional Planning Commission. The Lubbock/Plainview area use South Plains Association of Governments.
Obtain a rebate application from that planning commission, print an application off the planning commission website..
Fill out the rebate application and send it to the planning commission.
Find out if you qualify. There are only two qualifications.
1. The customer must own their home.
2. The customer must not live in a flood plain.
After the application is reviewed the planning commission will send you a letter that says: “Congratulations you have received a rebate.”
When you receive a letter confirming your rebate, You can call us and pick out a shelter.
When you schedule your installation, we will require a 20% down payment at that time. The remaining cost will be collected when the work is completed.
We will require the customer to pay the full amount. It is between the customer and the planning commission to obtain a rebate.
If the customer has proof of rebate
We will do all final paperwork concerning the rebate.
All the customer has to do is apply!
